Weekly Notes May 17 to 21

School Supply Return, Chromebook Return
Reminder that all school-issued Chromebooks, and school supplies sent home by teachers, need to be returned in the final two weeks of school (next week and the following week).  Please take some time this week to look around your house to be sure that all supplies make it back to the school, as we will reuse everything possible, next school year.

Please return all library books this week!
Please see the following from librarian Colleen Cook:

Dear Parents,
As this school year draws to a close, I want to thank you for sharing your children with me for Library Time.  The new (safety) procedures we have had to follow for checking out and returning books has been a challenge. . .but all students have been extremely positive and cooperative.  I have allowed students to have 3 or 4 books on their card.  At this time, I would like to solicit your help in reminding your child to please return all library books to the orange basket outside the Library door.  Also, I solicit your help in reminding your child to read, read, and read some more over summer break.

Warmly,
Mrs. Cook

About masks for the last week of school
As many parents may have seen, Governor Cox last Thursday stated that Utah schools will not be required to mandate masks for the final week of the current school year.  He left the decision up to each school district (or charter school, as charter schools act as their own school district), stating:  "Individual school districts will have the option to continue mask mandates in their schools."

Based on these parameters, as a school we have chosen to continue requiring that all students and staff wear masks when indoors at the school, through the end of the school year.  During the final week of school, masks will not be required when students and staff are outdoors at the school.   So mask protocols will remain largely the same for the remainder of the school year, with the difference being that for the final week of school, Tuesday June 1 through Friday June 4, masks will not be required when outside at school (including for the Field Day activities* on Friday June 4), but will still be required when indoors during that week.  We thank our students and families for continued support of our school's policies.

*See the bottom of this email for a reminder of the Field Day schedule for Friday June 4, as was sent in an email in April.

More Summer Camps Have Been Added
We have added more Summer Camp offerings and registration is still open! New camps include "Little House on the Prairie," "Charlotte's Web" and "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" for grade school students. Due to demand, we've also added more weeks of "Bugs and Bubbles" for the wee ones from ages 4-6. Sign up by May 28 to ensure a spot for your child. Visit this link for camp details and register to see the themes during different weeks: http://www.wasatchfamilyfoundation.org/2021-summer-camps1.html

Register Now for Aftercare for 2021-2022 School Year
Registration is now open for Aftercare for next school year. We will provide Aftercare for Grade 1 from 2:15 to 3:15pm, Friday Afternoon Care immediately after Friday Study Hall (available for those who are using the Friday Study Hall option), and Grades Aftercare each day after school from 3:15pm until 5:30pm.  Please note the change in time for Grades Aftercare, which has gone through 6:00pm through this school year.  Starting with the beginning of the 2021-22 school year, the ending time will be adjusted to 5:30pm, so all students participating in aftercare will need to be able to be picked up by that time.  Attached to this email are the registration forms required. Please complete and submit by June 1 to reserve your student's space. Kindergarten parents should have received a separate registration form for kindergarten aftercare.  Questions?
