Weekly Notes April 12-16

Hiring for Next School Year
We are in the process, this week and next, of interviewing candidates for part time positions for next school year (with work to begin in August 2021).  Possible positions include classroom assistants and hearth assistants; pay typically starts at $11/hour, for 20-29 hours per week.  If you are interested in work for next school year, reply to this email as soon as possible to get scheduled for an interview.

Hearth Food Donations
The hearths continue to need fresh food items each week, to provide snacks to students who are not able to bring them.  If you would like to contribute to this effort, please sign up for what you would like to bring:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0D45ADAC23A6FE3-food2. Your student can bring the donations into the school on any day; just direct them to give the items to their hearth keeper.

Picture Day this Thursday
This Thursday, April 15, is our final picture retake day for this school year.  If you have an online student who did not come to get their picture taken in either October or November, we would love to have your student come to the school on Thursday so that their picture can be in the yearbook.  Bring the student to the school anytime between 9am and 1pm on Thursday, and have them enter through the gym door (on the east side of the building), and they can be in and out within 5-10 minutes.  If your student is new to our school since November, we'd also love to have them get their picture taken for the yearbook.  If your student had a picture taken but you'd like a retake, this is the last chance.  If you want your student to get their picture taken on Thursday, please tell the student to let their teacher know, when they arrive at school, that they need to get their picture taken.  This is the only way the teacher will know to send your student to the gym for a picture.

Thank you for helping us meet our fundraising goals!
Dear Wasatch Community,
Thank you all so much for joining us on Saturday night for the 2021 Virtual Online Spring Gala Event! We had a wonderful time sharing the amazing class performances and playing BINGO with you all while raising funds for our school. Congratulations to all of the winners! If you were not able to come and pick up your items yesterday, they will be at the KinderHouse for you to pick up this week. A big thank you to all of our sponsors: Ameritech College of Healthcare, Snell & Wilmer, Wasatch Container, Red Apple Financial and the family of Heidi Huntsman and Mark Robinson. We were able to raise enough money through our fund-a-needs to receive the maximum matching funds from the state for our outdoor classroom project as well as raise funds for our teachers to continue their professional development training. Together, we met our goal of raising $50,000 for our school. We wouldn't have been able to do it without your support! We are truly making a difference and the impact of your financial contribution not only from the annual Spring Gala, but the Sustainer Program and the Harvest Festival helps bring Waldorf Education to life in our community. We are so thankful to have you!

with gratitude,
Wasatch Fundraising Committee

We are pleased to welcome Kami Hayes as our new Grades Aftercare Lead Provider. If you would like to enroll your child in Aftercare for the remaining 8 weeks of the school year, you are welcome to do so. Please contact tsullivan@wasatchwaldorf.org for the registration form and payment details.
