Community Norms

At Wasatch Charter School, we strive to make every space—digital or in-person—a reflection of our shared values.

GROUP CHAT COMPASS (GUIDELINES FOR GROUPME USE)

We want to share a few simple reminders about using our digital community platforms. These guidelines are based on our WCS Communication Policy and the values we share as a Waldorf community.

Currently most of our classes use the GroupMe platform and it is a helpful space for reminders, coordination, and support. To keep it positive and aligned with our school’s spirit, please keep these in mind:

Before posting, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary? Is it mine to share?

DO:

  • Be kind and purposeful in your messages

  • Assume good intentions

  • Direct concerns privately to the teacher or staff

  • Model respectful communication for our children

DON’T:

  • Gossip, vent, or speculate

  • Use the chat for complaints or problem-solving

  • Post anything you wouldn’t want shared beyond the group

By following these simple principles, we keep our digital spaces as thoughtful and respectful as our in-person ones. Thank you for helping foster a healthy, uplifting community—online and off.

Warmly,

 Wasatch Charter School Administration
